Donald Trump’s proposed luxury high rise, the “Trump Ocean Club” will be a 71 story mixed-use building, making it one of the highest of the new construction projects in Panama City, and the Donald’s first real estate investment in Central America. The proposed building, which depending on the viewer’s angle gives the appearance of either an open sail, or an inflated D, is to be built on a man-made peninsula on the Panama Bay. The tower will primarily house luxury condominium units, but will also be home to a hotel and have limited office space available.
While Trump has had mixed success throughout his career in real estate, his companies first investment in Central America is certainly a bold statement, and lends to the question: will Trump’s presence be a boon to Panama city, or just another massive monument to the Donald’s overinflated ego?
